In 1951, Dior released his first book, Je Suis Couturier (I am a Couturier) through publishers Editions du Conquistador. The company operated firmly established locations in Mexico, Cuba, Canada, and Italy by the end of 1953.[10] As popularity of Dior goods grew, so did counterfeiting.[10] This illegal business was supported by women who could not afford the luxury goods. Legendary fashion designer Christian Dior exploded onto the Paris fashion scene with designs that flew in the face of wartime restrictions and reintroduced a femininity and focus on luxury to women’s fashion.
Later, in 1958, the brand is replaced by ‘Christian Dior by Roger Vivier’. Christian Dior and the industrialist Marcel Boussac join forces to create the Christian Dior couture house. Christian Dior is born in Granville, Normandy, on January 21, to Alexandre Louis Maurice Dior and Marie-Madeleine Dior (née Martin), the second of five children.
